Adults Classes

We offer energetic and carefully designed ballet classes from beginners to professional levels, for young people, individuals, couples, the retired and the elderly. Teacher Ania Straczynska.

Adult Beginner Ballet – Tuesdays 6.15-7.15 pm (ELT Baptist Church)

For the strict beginner, or the dancer who are returning from a long break, we start this class at the barre with a warm up that takes you through the basic foundations of the ballet vocabulary and ballet exercises repeated in the center. The class adds flexibility to the body, coordination, poise and musical awareness. Simple steps in the center of the room (dance steps in the middle and across the room), challenges the use of floor, balance, pirouettes and their will be small sequences across the floor.

Adult Beginner Ballet Plus – Thursdays 7.30-8.45 pm (ELT Baptist Church)

The class is designed for the dance student who have done a year in our Adult Beginner Class, the dancer who knows their foundations and would like a little more challenge and movement across the classical ballet class repertoire. There is a warm and focused work atmosphere amongst our students and we welcome all with a little experience in ballet.

Adult General Ballet – Thursdays 6.15-7.30 pm (ELT Baptist Church)

This class is for the student who have done ballet for a period of time and who would like to be challenged. The class also fits the professional dancer who would like to keep a good base and technique. The class challenges the body through a variety of exercises at the barre (technical warm-up) and in the center that pushes the student towards more complicated steps. There will be adagio work, pirouettes and allegro that increases the students sense of dancing ability and vocabulary and push to open the body further.
